This rapidly growing company is looking for a Human Resources Generalist / Business Partner to support both their employees and their clients. This role, reporting to the Human Resources Manager as an individual contributor, guides both the HR team strategy and the company vision for both exceptional client experiences and outstanding risk management solutions. The ideal candidate thinks critically, takes initiative, creatively solves problems, and delivers solutions in a consultative, client-centric fashion. Duties of this position do not require overnight travel.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide human resources expertise, consulting, and risk management solutions to clients nationwide while delivering the finest of client experiences.
  • Advise on matters such as performance management, discipline, termination, wage/hour inquiries, job descriptions, worksite policies, and COVID-19 inquiries.
  • Provide cross-functional HR support, consulting, guidance, and partnership to internal teams such as client service and payroll.
  • Support high-volume client and employee onboarding efforts by managing and resolving new client service introductions, client-specific requests, and escalated issues.
  • Partner with clients to investigate and resolve complex employee relations matters involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead and/or participate on project teams to develop and implement new HR services, systems, or departmental processes.
  • Promote compliance initiatives including minimum wage audits, sick leave implementations, harassment prevention training, and mandated labor and employment postings.
  • Manage and support programs such as leave of absence and worker’s compensation.
  • Generate and analyze department reports on a periodic and ad hoc basis.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Three to four years of progressive, professional human resources experience or equivalent, preferably working in a multi-state company environment. Experience in HR consulting at a staffing company or PEO is a plus.
  • Experience successfully and thoughtfully navigating employee relations matters.
  • Superior accountability, organization, and leadership.
  • Strong professional demeanor including all written and verbal communications.
  • Strong interpersonal instincts and emotional intelligence; ability to quickly build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong skills in thinking critically, solving problems creatively, and delivering solutions in a consultative, client‑centric fashion, especially in fluid and nuanced situations.
  • Well-developed project management and time management skills with demonstrated resourcefulness including meeting multiple deadlines in a demanding environment.

LOCATION:  Remote or remote-optional/hybrid if the company has a physical local market presence. Metro St. Louis, Phoenix, and San Diego are current markets with physical locations. The company will sponsor onsite training in their San Diego headquarters for a period of one to three weeks at the start of employment.
